Holy Grail Product!

Let me first start by saying that I have always had very fine, thin hair and have tried multiple hair treatments, shampoos, etc claiming to make my hair look great. Unfortunately my hair would either be ONLY volumized, but left dry, or ONLY moisturized, but left flat. So after going through that my whole life, I can confidently say that the Roots Hair Treatment from LUSH is the absolute perfect product for my hair. I will even go so far as to say it is my HOLY GRAIL hair treatment.

The three main ingredients that make this product work so well are peppermint, honey, and olive oil. They are combined in a way that i get every ingredients benefits without one overweighing the others. Peppermint is great for your hair because it balances the pH levels of your scalp, controls oil and supplements dryness. And once your pH levels are balanced properly, your hair can grow faster and healthier. Honey also encourages hair growth due to the sugars it contains. It is also a great moisturizer because it is a humectant, which means it will hold the water/moisture molecules to your hair. Lastly, as you can imagine, Olive Oil is a fantastic moisturizer. It helps combat dandruff, mends split ends, and leaves your hair super soft and shiny (as long as you apply it properly; I knew a girl in high school who gave herself a straight olive oil hair mask, roots to ends, and had to come to school with greasy looking hair for almost a week! eek!) Luckily Lush has balanced this treatment so that wont happen to you!

The scent of Roots is pepperminty with a touch of Lush’s signature weirdness that I can never quite pinpoint. Happily, the scent does not linger in your hair once you rinse it out. The texture is a blend between a cream and a gel, and it spreads decently through your hair. I have very long hair and I use 1 to 2 1/2 tablespoons of product depending on if I am doing a full on hair treatment session or just a quick shower.

Overall I LOVE this product and the results its given me. Here are some pictures of the product:

OK, now I am just going to talk about a few products in particular from the list! Lets start with the YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick (I have the color #13). I voted this most overrated because although it is very pigmented, smooth, and glossy, i found the staying power was lacking. I’m not sure why Beauty Gurus were loving this because unless you don’t mind reapplying every hour or so, I don’t think it lives up to the hype. On the other hand the most underrated product, Loreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream, was not very well received by most gurus, but I found it to be absolutely fantastic! The coverage is great and it looks extremely natural. I also think it delivers the benefits advertised fairly quickly from the first use. Also, I love the fair color because its very neutral toned and matches my skin perfectly.

I was having a hard time deciding which powder eyeshadow was my favorite this year due to all of the new fun palettes that came out, when I stumbled upon the Urban Decay Sin Eyeshadow and I realized that I’ve worn this shade consistently throughout the year. Its a winner for me not only because of the number of times I’ve used it, but because of its incredible versatility. I’ve used Sin as a lid color, highlighter, crease color, blending color, and probably more ways that I am just not thinking of right now. The Too Faced Glamour Gloss in Pillow Talk has been a Holy Grail lip gloss for me every since I got it as a free gift with purchase at Ulta towards the beginning of the year. It is a perfect plumping glossy nude with slight shimmer that looks good with literally everything!

Next I want to talk about MAC’s blush is Cubic. I got this shade after a similar limited edition one was sold out and the lady helping me recommended it as a dupe. If you are fair skinned like me, this is the most natural looking blush you’ll ever find. Its so subtle and feminine, without being bright or glowy (words you would normally WANT to describe your blush). When you look at it in the pan, it looks kind of “blah” to be honest, but once applied, its absolute magic.

Everyone who watches my videos knows that Sigma Brushes are my complete and total favorite, but the stand out of the bunch for me this year was the F84 Angled Kabuki. Its great for foundation, but does a whole bunch of other tricks too. Speaking of foundation,  Kandee Johnson recommended using the Cover FX Total Coverage Cream Foundation as a concealer, and she couldn’t be more right. I picked it up ( I’m in the shade E10) at IMATS in August and the lady told me it was almost 60% pigment, whereas normal foundations are only about 20% pigment. How fantastic is that! Especially for a concealer! Lastly I have to mention MAC’s eyeshadow in Jaunty from their Hey Sailor collection in the summer. I was not thrilled with the collection, or any of their’s this year frankly, but this eyeshadow is a really great neutral for my skin tone. If your fair skinned try to find this on ebay. It’s worth it!

I know this was a long post today, but all the products I listed and or talked about deserved a mention. Thanks for reading and please don’t forget to tell me your favorite products.

Naked 2 Palette Holiday Makeup

Hey Everyone! Today I did a look with the holiday party theme in mind using the Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay. Normally I prefer the original Naked palette, but I thought maybe some of you either only have or prefer the second one, so thats why I chose to use it. I used the colors Foxy, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, YDK, and Busted to create a look that I would describe as an Angelic-Vixen-Shimmer look. If you want to see how I did it, click on the video :

Here are pictures and descriptions of the products I used:

CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer, Revlon Photoready Foundation, Urban Decay Primer Potion, Revlon Brow Fantasy
